Voice of the Youth
VOICE OF THE YOUTH
It has been declared that the month of November of every year as
the National Children’s Month. The celebration aims to emphasize the importance
of the role of the child within the Filipino community and in nation building.
Also mandates the promotion and protection of their physical, moral,
intellectual, spiritual and social well-being. It aims to give Filipino children access to a healthy environment,
good education, and healthcare that is why this celebration is
important.
This
year 2022, the DepEd’s National Children’s
Month will cover four categories of children’s rights including survival
rights, development rights, participation rights, and protection rights for the
whole month of November. All children have all these rights, no matter who they
are, where they live, what language they speak, what their religion is, what
they think, what they look like, if they are a boy or girl, if they have a
disability, if they are rich or poor, and no matter who their parents or
families are or what their parents or families believe or do. No child should
be treated unfairly for any reason. Giving value to someone’s right is very
important because it can give a person the confidence in living in our
society. Taking one day may not be enough, but using it as an
opportunity to redirect our family’s lives may be an important step in a
child’s life. Children’s look up to the adults in their lives for guidance.
While their personalities are unique, they develop their character as they
spend time with you and me. This is the opportunity for us to
hear the stories
of the youth. There many things to do to
celebrate the National Children’s Month such as exploring outdoors with your
family. But for me the best way to celebrate it is hosting or helping an
orphanage where children’s can have fun with me or to conduct a feeding
program. I want to experience happiness they have never felt before.
Mothers and fathers, teachers,
nurses and doctors, government leaders and civil society activists, religious
and community elders, corporate moguls and media professionals, as well as young
people and children themselves, can play an important part in making World
Children's Day relevant for their societies, communities and nations.
National
Children’s Month offers each of us an inspirational entry-point to
advocate, promote and celebrate children's rights, translating into dialogues
and actions that will build a better world for children. “Save the criticism
for youth and elders; children need encouragement”.
