“CAN YOU FEEL IT? LOVE IS IN THE  AIR”           Valentine’s Day is mostly considered as an international festival celebrating the feeling of love. More than just being a day for the lovers, the day holds bigger importance. It is a day to show and express our love to anyone. When we love our parents, we fail to express it sometime. So, the day is a chance to express our love for our parents, for our family members, and for our friends and closed ones.         My 2023 Valentine experience was the best valentine for me so far because I was  able to make the people I love, smile and that is the most ‘important thing to me, to see them happy. You’re probably wondering what did I gave, well the semester break was spent very good to me because I made flowers for my love one’s and of course I made myself one. I just made myself my own flowers because there is no one to give me flowers. It took a lot of effort making those that ...

One Town, One Voice at The Kannawidan Gala

ONE TOWN, ONE VOICE AT THE KANNAWIDAN GALA       The Kannawidan Festival in the Province of Ilocos Sur  commemorating the separation of the two Ilocos provinces in 1818 . Kannawidan is a variant of the Ilocano word "tawid" meaning  heritage or inheritance . This festival is a showcase of indigenous performances, religious rituals, as well cooking demos featuring the best of Ilocano dishes. This is one way how the Ilocano’s give thanks to the almighty God not only for the bountiful blessings but also for the rich heritage of the province.     It is a tradition that during the opening of the festival, there is usually a mass held at the St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral. It is followed by a procession of the Patron Saints of the 40 parishes and images of Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary around Vigan City. This event showcases the deep-rooted religiosity of the Ilocanos. The festival is for anyone but I think this focuses more on the youngerge...

We're Halfway Through

We're Halfway Through       Did I learn new things? The answer is yes. Did I have a lot fun? The answer is also yes. This quarter, I was able to learn from a variety of new things from our ICT (Information  and Communication Technology . The lessons are familiar because I might have encountered it before but other than a lot of new things was very new to me. Having my friends again throughout this quarter was very fun and enjoyable.       This quarter, nothing much have change in the way I behave in class. The time management problem that I had on the first quarter, well I'm still carrying it. There is still a lot of cramming of home-works and projects.  When we had a lockdown because of pandemic I was able to learn how to code games using the Visual Studio App and I was enjoying it. So, when my teacher in ICT said that this second quarter will focus on coding and tags, I was so excited. We started of this quarter w...

VIVA VIGAN: LONGGANISA FESTIVAL There are many reasons to travel the wonderful province of Ilocos Sur we'd bet that going to watch or witness the Vigan Festival tops your bucket list.  The city of the Ilocos Sur province, Vigan City celebrates The Vigan City Fiesta every January 25. It is celebrated during the feast day of the conversion of St. Paul the Apostle. St. Paul is Vigan City’s patron saint.  Travelling to the beautiful town of Vigan City is not a bad decision at all. The journey that we took together was all worth it.  Whilst wandering around the Plaza Salcedo and waiting for the Vigan Longganisa Street Dancing to start, we heard a loud drum banging and lyre chiming. We look down to the place where we're at then we saw the gorgeous and handsome street dancers. They were practicing they're dance before the event/competition starts and even if they were just practicing,  I was amazed of how energetic they danced.          ...

It marks the ending of the year and the beginning of another as per the Gregorian calendar. This is an important day for people who wish to enter this new year with new resolutions, hope and light. New year’s is not celebrated at the same time around the world but rather it depends on the timeline of a country.   This New Year was completely different from the past 2-3 years because before was a lot harder to celebrate it due to the spreading COVID-19 virus. So this year, I know a lot of us was very excited. We celebrated freely and carefully.   Most countries celebrate the new year on December 31 st  after 12 am i.e on 1 st  January. The new year is also celebrated in India on 1 st  January, but according to the Hindu scriptures, the new year falls between march – April. Every religion has its own calendar, but most o...

TRUE ESSENCE OF CHRISTMAS AND MY 2022 EXPERIENCE

Image
TRUE ESSENCE OF CHRISTMAS AND MY 2022 EXPERIENCE       Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year when everyone smells joy in the air and celebrating with friends and family. Christmas means different things to a lot of people. To some the focus is on gift giving, food preparation, decorating trees, cleaning the house, events to attend, sending out Christmas cards and the list could go on. There is nothing wrong with doing these Christmas traditions. Also for many people, Christmas is a time of sorrow. Because a lot of them says that they don't have the extra money to buy presents for their children, family, and friends. Many are saddened at Christmastime when they think of their loved ones who will not be able to come home for various reasons. But is this the real meaning of Christmas? For me Christmas is a time to reflect on the Love of Christ. You see, Christmas is when we celebrate the birth of the Christ child. God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world to be bo...

Festival of Skills & Talents: ESTUDYANTREPRENEUR 2022               School is the basic foundation of knowledge being imparted to a child. It gives a chance to children to acquire knowledge on various fields of education, such as people, literature, history, mathematics, politics, and other numerous subjects. By obtaining knowledge, a person is in a better position to help other people.   Schools have made or created programs such as the “ ESTUDYANTREPRENEUR 2022” to develop different skills of the teenage students at an early age.         This is the first time that I have witnessed and experienced this kind of event/festival in our school. My first reaction seeing it was like, “oh, they have this kind of program now?”. I think the significance of this is for the students to learn and be able to enhance and develop their different skills. Entering where the event was held was very organized and seei...
