“Join the Majority, Vote for Gender Equality”

(National Women’s Month Celebration)

 This International Women's Month 2022 we honour and celebrate the voice of womankind by speaking to these inspirational ladies with the theme “We for Gender Equality & Inclusive Community”.

      The Presidential Proclamation No. 227 Series of 1988 declares the observance of the Month of March as Women's Role in History Month and Republic Act No. 6949 Series of 1990 declares March 8 of every year as National Women's Day which aims to give recognition to the contributions of Filipino women in our society. Therefore, March has become known as a time to celebrate all that it means to be a woman. To acknowledge equality, and to celebrate the many strong, smart, confident, innovative, talented and beautiful women out there in the world. There is power in femininity, in sexuality, and in all types of appearances and perspectives. We hear from women from different backgrounds, industries, and life experiences to understand why this month means a great deal to them.

    The full participation and partnership of both women and men is required in productive and reproductive life, including shared responsibilities for the care and nurturing of children and maintenance of the household. We have a knowledge that in all parts of the world, women are facing threats to their lives, health and well- being as a result of being overburdened with work and of their lack of power and influence. At the same time, women's own knowledge, abilities and coping mechanisms often go unrecognized. Women receive discrimination from the opposite sex, so does the men. But it is mostly women who experience this kind of unlikable activities.

       This is why we celebrate International Women’s Month - to celebrate how far we have come and understand how far we still need to go towards gender equality. This month, we highlight women and the things we have achieved. I feel that this plays a big role in empowering each other, especially the youth and making the men recognize the contribution we have in society. I, as a women believe that we are one of the most powerful investments we can make in building a better future.
