HIS SACRIFICIAL LOVE

HIS SACRIFICIAL LOVE

As the Catholic Church prepares toward the Holy Week, we must also prepare and offer ourselves before the passion of our Savior Jesus Christ by means of forgiveness and reflection. During this time, we must not forget how our Savior sacrificed His life to save us from our sins. We must remember, “God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him might not perish but might have eternal life” (John 3:16).

Holy Week is a time of forgiveness as we are preparing for the celebration of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to the Father. It is a time to embrace our mistakes and shor-comings, and forgive all who had offended us. “We are the people of God; He loved us and chose us for His own. So then, we must clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience” (Colossians 3:12).

“There are seven sacraments in the Catholic Church (in order); Baptism, Penance/Reconciliation, Eucharist, Confirmation, Holy Matrimony, Holy Orders, and Anointing of the Sick” These sacraments help build up the body of Christ, make people holy, and to give worship to God. Baptism is the very first sacrament and the first step towards a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. People usually get baptized as babies but it does not have any age limit. When babies get baptized, the priest sprinkles holy water upon your forehead but sometimes when you’re older, you put in your whole body. “The very last sacrament is the Anointing of the Sick, administered to bring spiritual and physical strength during an illness, especially near to the time of death.

During the Semana Santa, the days of Monday to Thursday, I am pretty much just inside our house. Most of the time sleeping and on Friday we went to Sinait to visit their church. I wasn’t able to do my project on holiday because why not rest when you free time, right?

But all in all, we should always trust the Lord and “take delight in the Lord, and He will give the desires of our heart. Commit our way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this: He will make our righteous reward shine like the dawn, our vindication like the noonday sun
