   PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE: OUR TALE OF SUCCESS

  Ilocos Sur National High School Day is The past 121 years have been a rewarding journey for Ilocos Sur National High School. Amidst these unprecedented times in our lifetime, our community goes back in time to recall with fondness past celebrations of our foundation day. With gratitude and so much hope in our hearts, we look to the future with a strong resolve grounded on our conviction that the best years for ISNHS are yet to come.

   

“Foundation day celebrations in pre-pandemic times were exciting and eventful for all. The students were very eager and happy to participate in the different activities even though they were tired due to the preparations made weeks before. Different grade levels had their own entry to the festival of dances where the students displayed their talents while wearing their beautiful outfits and colorful costumes as they strutted on stage. But because of the pandemic on 2020, the foundation day was cancelled and we didn’t fully perform what we have practiced.

    I must say that this year’s Foundation day is upsetting because the performers were only selected and not all of the students of the school participated. I was always joking about the performers being the only students of our school. But anyway, I attended the High School day that others have been waiting for. I was only able to watch the program at the field because I went very late (Filipino time, I guess). The program at the field started with the singing of the National Anthem and other Hymns. Then it was followed with a prayer led by the head of the Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao, Mr. Joseph Obrero. Next, is the performance by the selected students. As they stand on the field, bearing the heat of the sun, they dance with all of their energy. The selected students from grades 7 to 12 danced to the Galaw Pilipinas and some of the grade 9 students were tasked to dance the different festivals in the Philippines. Their every moves was synchronized and satisfying to watch. But how I wish, I there to perform (just kidding lmao).

     Over the years, the commemoration of the institution’s founding celebration has provided exceptionally memorable days of entertainment and fellowship. This over a centennial milestone represents the school’s unrelenting passion and initiative to maintain a meaningful presence in the lives of its students and surrounding communities while sustaining excellence.
